losing weight

First workout-class ever! My experience.

As the title implies, today I went to my first workout-class ever. And I’m proud of myself for doing it.

It was tough! The instructor was saying that we should keep moving unless we were about to die – and I did feel like that might be the case several times! But I worked through it. Of course I took some breaks and had sips of water between stuff, but I did it all! I kept moving even when I thought my body would kick me, and even though I was panting like never before and my face was red like a mix between a strawberry and a tomato.  (more…)

I’ve actually lost 30 pounds!

I just.. wow. Ohmffghgg.. That’s a big number! I mean.. 30. Thirty pounds.

Yes. Yes! YES!

I hadn’t actually understood that before. I’m smiling right now. Realising that I’ve done this. I’ve made this happen. I’ve… I’ve actually lost 30 pounds off of my body weight.

I’m…. I’m proud of myself. That’s a hard thing for me to say, but right now it is true. I am proud of myself.

I can’t even.. I just.. the times I’ve googled “easy weightloss”, “how to lose weight fast”, “exercise for overweight people”, “how to lose 10 pounds”.. I found my way, and it’s worked so far.

This gives me the energy to keep going and hopefully reach my goal.

Getting back into the healthy routine

After getting two surgeries done in 2017 – and now almost done with the pains after them, it’s time for me to get back into the healthy lifestyle I had going for fall 2016.

This is a list for myself, and I thought I would share it with you:

  1. Go to the gym again (at least twice a week)
  2. Weigh myself once a week
  3. Eat 1600 kcal each day (plus my 700 extra each week)
  4. Go on a daily walk

Weight loss journey #4 – From minus 5 to minus 10 kilos!

How youtube videos can help! And how great the double digits felt!

Going from having lost 5 kgs to reaching the magical double digits was an amazing feeling! It felt even better than the first five. In a way, it made me want to calculate in punds – since it would double the numbers (1 kgs is around 2,2 pounds). But it would not feel right to me since everyone in Denmark always use the kilos instead, and I don’t think it would trick my mind as much as just confuse me.

I reached the minus 10 kgs in October 2016. The way I’d done it was (more…)

Weight loss journey #2 – Losing the first 5 kgs

First of all a disclaimer. I wanna say that I’m not an expert on any of this. I’m not educated and the only experience I have is what I’ve felt on my own body, heard from others and read online.

But I wanna share what I did. As I said in my post Weight Loss Journey #1 I’ve gone from 103 kgs to 90 kgs now. I started May 2016 – and got to 90 kgs December 2016. Since then, the last two months has been “quiet”. I haven’t gained, but I also haven’t lost anything. The reason being that I allowed myself a break for christmas, and the fact that I’ve been sick and overcoming minor surgery in January. Now though, it’s time to get back to business.

For this post, however, I wanna share what worked for me. This post will be the beginning. Later I will post more about the progress. (more…)

Weight loss journey #1

I am usually not one to talk about weight – at all.. I’ve always been on the heavier side, and always felt like someone might make fun of me for it. No one ever actually has though – and I’m so thankful for that!

But April 2016 I found out that my teeth and the way I bite is very bad, and that it will require fixing, first with braces and then surgery. A surgery which they wont perform unless my BMI came into the ‘normal’ category. In my case, it meant that I would need to loose 25 kgs, needing to go from 103 kgs to 78 kgs. (more…)
